Prefer to type your plans on a computer? Download our free Excel calendar template (58 KB). Choose the year and month in the yellow cells and the whole month updates, with US federal holidays filled in for 2026 to 2035. It works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

Printing Tips

Pick the paper that matches what is in your printer. Here is what each size is good for:

Print at 100% first. If an edge gets cut off, choose "Fit to page" in the print window instead.
Save ink with the Simple style and weekend shading turned off.
Make it last by printing a wall calendar on thicker paper or light card stock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this custom calendar maker really free?

Yes. Make, download and print as many calendars as you like. There is no sign-up and nothing to pay. The only branding is a small monthly-calendar.com line in the bottom corner.

How do I add my own events and birthdays?

Pick a date in the Events box, type what is happening and press Add. Tick "Repeat every year" for birthdays and anniversaries, so they show up every year. You can also click any day on the calendar and type straight into it.

Can I add a photo to my calendar?

Yes. Click "Add a photo" and choose a picture from your phone or computer. Each month can have its own photo. Your photos stay on your device and are never uploaded.

How do I make a full 12-month calendar?

Choose the month you want to start with, then click "Download 12 months". You get one PDF with all 12 months. Start in January for a calendar year, or in August for a school year.

Can I print a whole year on one page?

Yes. Choose the Year layout to fit all 12 months on one sheet, with the US federal holidays listed underneath.

Which holidays can I show on my calendar?

US federal holidays are on from the start, including the day off when a holiday falls on a weekend. You can also turn on popular days, such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Halloween, and religious holidays from several faiths. Holiday dates are ready for 2026 to 2035. Islamic holiday dates depend on the moon and can move by a day.

Can my calendar start the week on Monday?

Yes. Set "Week starts on" to Monday. You can also turn on ISO week numbers, which many offices and schools use.

Which paper sizes can I print on?

US Letter, A4, A5, Legal, A3 and Tabloid, each in portrait or landscape. Letter and A4 suit home printers. A3 and Tabloid make big wall calendars.

Is there a customizable monthly calendar for Excel?

Yes. Click "Download Excel" for a free template that works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Choose a year and month in the yellow cells, and the dates and US federal holidays fill in by themselves.

Are my events and photos saved?

Your settings, events and notes are saved in this browser on this device, so they are still here when you come back. Nothing is sent to our website. Photos are not saved, so add them again next time. Click "Start over" to clear everything.

Can I make a blank calendar with no dates?

Yes. Tick "Blank calendar" in the Calendar options. You get an empty month grid with space to write the month and dates yourself, so you can print it once and reuse it.
